The science behind earthing is solid! A study published in 2015 is worth a look! It states in the results that; “Grounding appears to improve sleep and normalize the day. It also improves night cortisol rhythm and reduces pain and stress. It appears to shift the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic toward parasympathetic activation. As a result, it increases heart rate variability. On top of that, wound healing speeds up, and blood viscosity reduces.”
Historically, humans have always had a physical connection with the Earth. They have walked, sat, and slept on the ground as well as cultivating their land with their bare hands.
Thus they have spent a lot of their time naturally grounded. Modern lifestyles have changed this. Living in high rise buildings means walking on concrete most of the time. For the most part, this negates opportunities for connecting to the ground.
Generally speaking, rubber and plastic-soled footwear stops us from connecting to the Earth. On top of that, insulating substances around us have cut us off from the Earth’s energy. These include plastics and suchlike.
WHY DO WI-FI SIGNALS AND ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AFFECT OUR ELECTRON BALANCE?
Electrical appliance emissions affect our bodies. When the body is not in contact with the ground, an electron deficiency of positive charge can build up. Sources of this deficiency include many electrical appliances, televisions, computers, phones, and Wi-fi. Equally, the build-up of static electricity from friction and wind exacerbates the scarcity.
When the body holds a positive charge for long periods, it can affect many ionic processes in the body. Modern life has disconnected us from the Earth. As such, lifestyle insulates us from the ground. As a consequence, it causes chronic electron deficiency. We also know this as an antioxidant deficiency.
To counteract this imbalance, we must spend time connecting to the Earth’s frequency. Walking barefoot on the ground, or if that is not possible by sleeping on a grounding mat.
SCIENCE BEHIND EARTHING: WHY ARE LEATHER SOLES BETTER THAN RUBBER OR PLASTIC SOLES?
Historically, until the invention of plastic and rubber, shoes were always made from leather. The reason that leather soles are better than rubber or plastic is that leather acts as a conductor for electrons. Thus it maintains a conductive contact between the Earth and your feet. Modern-day rubber and plastics, however, are electrical insulators. They block the flow of electrons from the Earth to your body.
When we become grounded and reconnect with the Earth’s energy, our body can combat these excess free radicals so that the body can repair and heal naturally. For this reason, we must reconnect with this natural energy daily to optimize and maintain good health!
Many people buy shoes that are ‘earthed’—using sandals or shoes that engage your contact with the Earth. The Earthing Store, based in the USA, has a large selection to suit all tastes. Check them out here.
For those people that live in the UK or Europe, ‘Groundology’ also has some excellent products for grounding your shoes. They even have grounding socks. Take a look at some options here.
