WHAT IS A KETOGENIC DIET?
What is a Ketogenic diet?
Often called the Keto diet, many scientists and nutritionists advocate the use of this diet for people with autoimmune diseases and other chronic illnesses. What is a keto diet?
A keto or ketogenic diet is a low-carb, moderate protein, higher-fat diet that can help you burn fat more efficiently! Generally speaking, the idea is that you get more of your calories from fat and protein and less from carbohydrates. As a result, you get a much healthier you! That coupled with a good weight loss, without really trying!
Remove most of the carbs that are easy to digest, like sugar, soda, pastries, pasta, rice, and white bread. On the whole, these are the ‘white’ foods, which is an easy way to keep in mind what you should be avoiding. Also known as simple carbs or processed carbs. Essentially this is because they turn rapidly into glucose once they are broken down by the body.
LOSE WEIGHT AND REDUCE INFLAMMATION
Besides helping people to lose weight and feel better, it dramatically reduces inflammation within the body. Because of this it helps to mitigate many of the symptoms associated with M.S. People suffering from Multiple Sclerosis often have problems with fatigue. The Ketogenic diet has shown to be very effective in alleviating this symptom along with many others.
My personal experience with the ketogenic diet has been very positive. I have more energy, more brain clarity, and less pain when cutting carbohydrates from my daily routine.
